- All rooms are equipped with flat panel TVs, Keurig coffeemakers, hair-dryers, iron and ironing boards, and air conditioning. Most rooms also have a kitchenette or full-kitchen with cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, and sink.
- Chatham Tides offers free wireless internet access. The network and password will be provided at check-in.
- Mobile phone signals are good, however if you need to use our land line telephone please dial “8” for an outside line.
- There is an outdoor shower for rinsing off sand and saltwater, located at the end of the beachfront building under the stairs. Please wash off excess sand before returning to guestrooms.
- Please help us maintain our commitment to being environmentally friendly, but using the following system to prevent the unnecessary washing of towels:
- If you leave your towels in the bath tub/shower, we will gladly change them.
- If you leave your towels on the rail, you are happy to re-use them.
- Please do not use bathroom towels on the beach.
- Beach towels (white with blue stripe) are available upon request in the main office, but supplies are limited and provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- We strongly caution all guests to remain alert around open doors. Even modest sea breezes can cause guestroom doors to slam closed suddenly, which could cause injury.
- Please do not flush anything other than toilet paper down the toilet. All other items should be placed in a sanitary disposal bag before depositing in the bathroom bin, which is emptied daily.
- If you wish to use an iron and ironing board they can be found in your closet, kindly refrain from using the iron on the floor.
The Tides’ beach is for Registered Guests Only.
An adult must accompany young children at all times.
Swimming is at your own risk. There is never a lifeguard on duty.
Fireworks are illegal in Massachusetts and are not to be discharged anywhere on hotel grounds.
For reservations made directly on our website or via phone, a deposit equal to 50% of stay plus lodging tax is required to secure your reservation and will be charged to the Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express card provided. You may cancel your reservation 21 days prior to your arrival date for a refund minus a $50 cancellation fee.
The remainder of your balance is due at check-in and can be paid by credit card or cash. Your reservation is not confirmed until your deposit has been successfully processed. An automatic confirmation will be sent by our reservation system to the email you provide. Guests electing self-check-in or arriving outside of the normal check-in hours will have the remaining balance charged the day the self-check-in information is provided.
Any changes or cancellations to reservations made through third-party websites such as Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb, or VRBO will be must be made through those third-parties and cannot be amended by the hotel directly.
During our peak season from Memorial Day to Columbus Day, we sometimes require a 2-night minimum length of stay. Holiday or special event weekends many include additional night requirements.
We offer discounts for longer-term stays in excess of ten days. Feel free to contact the hotel directly if you would like to inquire about availability.
Rates are based on two people per room. Children are welcome but must be always accompanied by an adult family member. There is a $25 per night, per-person charge for each extra person over 3 years old. All guest names must be listed on the reservation for your safety in the event of an emergency.
Office Hours are from 8 AM to 8 PM during peak season from June to September. During the off-season, the office is typically open from 8:00 AM to 5PM.
During peak season, check-in is available starting at 3:00 PM.
If you are not sure of your arrival time or will be arriving after Office Hours, please contact the hotel prior to arrival and we will provide you with the self-check-in information. It is rare that we can accommodate an early check-in but we are always happy to store baggage. Please call to make these arrangements in advance.
Check-out is any time before 11 AM.
Late check-outs must be arranged at least 24-hours in advance with the Innkeeper to assure there is ample time to prepare the room for guests arriving later that day. If available, a late check-out is 1 PM and is tariffed at 25% of the nightly room rate. During our peak season from mid-June to late-August, we typically cannot accommodate late check-outs due to the tight timeframe to turn over the guestroom.
Parking for one (1) vehicle per room is allotted. There are a limited number of additional parking spaces, so please contact the hotel directly if you anticipate requiring parking for more than one car or are bringing an oversize vehicle. Please DO NOT PARK in the area in front of reception. We have left this area for Emergency Services, taxis and for you to check in only. Please park responsibly using the designated spaces in the hotel’s parking lots. Chatham Tides is not responsible for extra vehicles towed from off-site parking spots.
You are respectfully reminded that Chatham Tides is a non-smoking/non-vaping establishment. For the health and safety of our guests, smoking and vaping is not anywhere on the premises including on our oceanfront decks and patios and on the beach. Notwithstanding the foregoing, there are designated smoking areas in the driveway and gardens. Please dispose of your cigarette ends responsibly using the sand buckets provided. If you are found to have been smoking in your room, we will levy a deep cleaning charge equivalent to one night’s accommodation.
Your room has a set of keys for your bedroom and front door. Please keep these safe and take them with you. If you inadvertently take a key home with you we will give you seven days to return the key by mail, otherwise a replacement charge of $25 will charged to your account.
Our guests look forward to a rejuvenating and relaxing stay. Please be considerate of your fellow guests when exiting and returning to your room and observe quiet hours from 9 pm to 8 am. Excessive noise or loud music will not be tolerated, and the police will be notified after two warnings.
Your safety and security are our utmost concern. Cape Cod generally offers a safe environment. We suggest while you are staying with us, or in any hotel, you should use the same safety precautions and common-sense approach that you would use in your own home. Please take the time to observe a few simple steps to keep yourself and your valuables secure, including:
- Secure your room doors
- Open the door only for people you can identify.
- Lock your car whenever it is parked in the lot.
- Keep your cash and jewelry on your person.
- Familiarize yourself with the quickest exit path from your room.
- If you lose your room key, alert the Hotel immediately.
In the event of the fire alarm sounding (a two-tone siren) please evacuate the building as quickly and calmly as possible to the assembly point, which is located at the parking lot located directly in front of the beach. Please close all doors behind you when exiting your room. Do not stop to pick up belongings. Do not re-enter the building until authorized to do so. Please familiarize yourself with your means of escape. If you have any hearing or sight problems, mobility difficulties or issues which may make it difficult to evacuate the building in the event of an emergency, please notify us upon arrival so that we can assist you.
In case of a medical emergency, first dial 911 using your cellphone or the guestroom phone. Remain calm; give your name, your room number, and brief description of the emergency. For non-urgent medical concerns, please contact the Front Desk.
On occasion, weather conditions may cause temporary power outages. Please stop by the Front Desk for any assistance needed. Rest assured that we will be making every effort to rectify the problem. If you would like light sticks or a flashlight they will be available in the hotel office.
Please do not leave outdoor patio umbrellas open unattended as winds come up quickly resulting in damage. Please do not move deck furniture off designated areas. There are Adirondack chairs available at the beach for your use. Grills are available at the main office, please only use grills on the gravel area and not on the wooden decks or grass.
Other than the grills and firepits provided for guests’ use, charcoal grills, candles, or fires of any kind are not allowed on beach, hotel grounds, or in rooms or on decks.
The ice machine is in the gift shop next to the hotel office along with vending machines and a small selection of items you may have forgotten or a souvenir to take home. To ensure all guests have enough ice, only ice buckets supplied in the room are allowed. No coolers are permitted.
At the discretion of the hotel’s management, violation of these policies will result in the need to find other accommodations. Refunds will not be considered.
